Historic Route 66 & Cool Springs

From the very earliest days, Cool Springs camp and service station was an important stop for motorists traveling Arizona’s Route 66. Cool Springs was built in the mid-1920s and has been connected with Route 66 from the very start. The legacy of Cool Springs reflects the larger story of Route 66. The Mother Road gave it life. The hey-day of Route 66 was the hey-day of Cool Springs.

Sitgreaves Pass

Beautiful scenic views. Sitgreaves’ Pass was first mapped out by Captain Lorenzo Sitgreaves in 1851 while on an expedition to see if the Colorado and other rivers could be navigated by steam boat. From the top of the pass at an elevation of 3,550ft (1,082 m), you can see the across the Black Mountains into California and Nevada to the West and across the scenic switchbacks to the Hualapai Mountains in Arizona to the East.

Great Day!!

Bob picked us up in Lake Havasu City,AZ.
Took us to Kingman to see the museum and electric car museum, very interesting. Then to Cool Spring, sales lady gave us the history of the business, very interesting!! Off to Oatman to feed the Burrows, did some shopping and watched a shot out in the street. Headed back to LHC, stopped for lunch along the way! Thanks Bob

A Day Full of Fun!

We had a blast, starting with the drive to Oatman along the winding road that was beautiful. The shops along main street in Oatman were so much fun, the noon shootout on main street was so unexpected. We stop and had lunch at one of the eating establishments. The food was good. The donkeys on main street were fun to watch as well. Overall we had a blast!

Awesome Experience!

After a scenic drive along Rte 66 you get to visit an old Gold mining town. Wild Burro's everywhere greet you. Had some candy at the candy store and lunch at the local restaurant. Visited the entrance of an old gold mine. A very nice day, would recommend it to anyone in the area!
